After a tumultuous last week, stock market bounced back today with Sensex and Nifty both gaining around 0.8%. All sectoral indices except IT and PSU Banks ended in green.
On BSE Sensex, Bank of Baroda topped the volume charts with 56.2 lakhs of shares traded and a total of 21,202 trades. After it’s disappointing Q3 results, State Bank of India had the most number of trades with 21,712 and 26.12 lakh shares being traded in all. ONGC and Vedanta both had around 14.5 lakh shares traded and their number of trades being 6,829 and 8,667 respectively.
Others who topped the list with regards to the number of shares traded were Coal India (13.76 lakh), Tata Steel (13.34 lakh), Sun Pharma (12.42 lakh), TCS (11.96 lakh), Power Grid (11.48 lakh) and BHEL (11.13 lakh).
On Nifty50, out of 33 securities that reached 52-week high on Monday, Agri-Tech India gained the most at 20% hitting an upper-circuit. Apcotex Industries last hit a high on 15th January and now gained 15.5% to gain 72 points and a new high of 557. 3M India’s share price also reached 22,709 gaining 15.7% and reaching 52-week high after nearly 2 months. FCS Software Solutions was the only penny stock that changed more than 10% to reach 0.45.
Hinduja Ventures, Hind Rectifiers, De Nora India and J. Kumar Infraprojects were some other companies that gained more than 5% to reach 52-week high in today’s trade.
